200 billion plastic bottles are consumed globally each year and less than 20% are recycled! Hundreds of billions of bottles, that are needlessly produced, shipped and then added to landfills. The use of plastic bottles has a huge negative impact on the environment and it takes so little to reduce the amount of plastic used in our daily lives, one bottle at a time.
So I've been looking for a smart, good looking solution to carry my water around. Something that will help me reduce the plasitc used in my life and save me money in the long term. Well, I'm excited to say, I've found that and a whole lot more.
The insulated stainless steel bottle is made of 100% food quality stainless steel (18/8 food grade) and is virtually unbreakable. Another very cool fact: I am a coffee junkie - that's not the cool fact - and I can also fill coffee in the bottle and the S'well will keep it hot (or cold) for 12 hours!
We are proud to welcome the S'well Bottle to the Holstee family because we are not only fans of the product itself, but we also support their mission: S'well aims to eliminate the number of plastic bottles needlessly discarded every year and partners with Water Aid. Every S'well purchase supports Water Aid programs improving access to clean water, hygiene and sanitation.
This past Monday was World Water Day so here at the Holstee HQ we've dedicated this week take a deeper look at some water related issues. In our search we came across this amazing video about bottled water that we think is worth sharing!
Ever wonder why we pay for water?! If tap water really is as bad as everyone says?! Or what actually happens to the plastic bottles when “recycled"?This short video sums up these questions and more! Check it out!
