We are so excited to work with Yoko Sakao Ohama again! The artist who created the pocket details for our Holstee Original tees and dresses now brings her signature style to a pack of four different greeting cards. Yoko’s ability to creatively capture the essence of the Manifesto in her simple yet beautiful sense of design make these cards a truly special set.

When we asked Yoko what influences her work, she confessed that she gets most of her inspiration from the people around her: “I’m very fortunate to be working out of Studiomates, a collaborative workspace teeming with smart, kind, enterprising folks. My co-workers at Tattly are busting at the seams with talent and awesomeness. Also, a crisp, 60–65º NY morning can really get me going.”

When asked what she was most passionate about, she excitedly answered, “Learning stuff!” She went on to (very eloquently) explain further: “I only recently came to terms with the fact that it is unlikely that I will read every book, speak every language, master every art, cook every food, do every everything. Luckily, with that resignation I also realized that the learning never stops. The internet is a fantastic source for constant, evolving enrichment, so I’m passionate about that, too.” After a pause, “Also I like pandas,” she added, “because they are awesome.” Can’t argue with that!

Printed on paper derived from 50% ellie poo and 50% recycled paper, and paired with 100% recycled kraft paper envelopes, this 100% biodegradable set can be found here!

(Thanks Julia Robbs for the photo of Yoko!)
